Keith Cobell

President

Keith has over 18 years of leadership experience in developing and managing a diverse range of social impact initiatives within companies and organizations, philanthropic institutions, and most recently social enterprises in Rwanda and Belize. Throughout his career Keith has been involved in catalyzing the power of entrepreneurship and education to impact lives and economies in emerging markets.

“Throughout my professional life I’ve been privileged to be able to do what I love while helping make a positive difference in the world. From philanthropy to nonprofit work to social enterprise, I've gained opportunities to add value to organizations and companies around the world that are doing great work. Most of all, I'm thankful - and fortunate - to have worked with some of the most gifted and passionate people in their fields.”

Craig Janofski

Director of Strategic Initiatives

Before moving to Haiti with his family, Craig had more than a decade of experience as the Director of Operations for a bookstore company. After moving to Haiti in 2013, he spent three years helping to develop and raise support for a Children’s Home. Craig joined Extollo International as Haiti Country Director in 2016, and is now residing in Michigan and serving as the Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Sandra Hopken

Administrative Assistant

Lives in California with her wonderful husband, children, and grandchildren.  She serves in her local church but also wanted to get involved in helping in her community and around the world.  Sandra worked with Kids Against Hunger for about 4 years.  She learned about Extollo International while working with KAH and loved the idea of working side by side those who want to serve others by building them up and making them stronger.

Brook Maturo

Bookkeeper

Brook grew up on Maui and has never lived far from the ocean.  She was on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, worked in the medical billing field and then as Director of Finance and CFO for the Underground Network in Tampa, FL.  She now lives in San Francisco with husband and two teenagers.  When she isn't serving ministries with bookkeeping and administrative services, you can find her reading, enjoying the outdoors or drinking all kinds of tea.

Renee Janofski

Digital Media Manager

After spending nearly six years living in Haiti, Renee and her family have moved to Southwest Michigan and are still actively involved in the Extollo story. We are thankful to have Renee's creativity and perspective as she continues to help share the vision of Extollo with others through digital media.

Our Board

Sherman & Cheryl Balch

Founders & General Superintendent

Sherman D. Balch is Vice President of Balch Enterprises, a builder/developer with over 40 years experience in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley. In September 2012, Sherman also officially launched Extollo International. In addition to serving on our board, Sherman guides our construction related activities in the role of General Contractor.

“My heart was broken when I saw and smelled the death and destruction first hand. The majority of this could/should have been prevented if structures would have been built to proper construction standards. It was at that time God started dealing with me about using the gifts, resources and experience He had given me to help the Haitian people and their country that had been torn apart by so much death and destruction.”

More about Sherman

Roger Brownell

Board Secretary

After retiring from a 30+ year career in Construction, serving as the Controller and Director of HR for the Northern California Carpenters Regional Council, I served as the California Director for Crown Financial Ministries and Director of Small Groups at several Bay Area Churches.

“When I became familiar with what Extollo was doing in Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere , I was excited to get involved because I could see the life changing impact they were having first hand in building orphanages for kids who had no place to live and very little to eat and now from our Training Center in Haiti, training Haitians in Construction Skills that will allow them to feed their families, send their children to school , giving them Hope and a Future, and  ending the poverty cycle one family at a time.”

Avery Pratt

Board Member

After serving as the Director of Construction Training and Trade School Development, we are happy to have Avery serve on our board. He brings years of experience working in the construction industry and a heart to see the Haitian people grow stronger.

Bruce Kirkpatrick

Board Member

Bruce spent over 30 years in Silicon Valley as an executive and entrepreneur. Since his move to Southern California, he now divides his time between writing and serving on nonprofit boards of directors. His first novel, Hard Left, was published in 2007. His memoir, Lumberjack Jesus, debuted in 2016.

“When Sherman Balch called me with the opportunity to work with his vision of building homes, schools and churches in Haiti, I felt a profound answer to my prayer. God was telling me I could use the talents he gave me and my spiritual gifts of leading, teaching and serving – and to see real, concrete results on the ground in Haiti for my efforts.”
